Since nearly the entire provincial hiway network was shutdown last week due to avalanche danger and cleanup, mudslides, flooding, ecetera, ecetera we were unable to make it all the way to Banff. After zig-zagging all the way from Vancouver Island, we did, however manage to arrrive in Revelstoke. A place where the snow falls in feet not inches, and the girl serving beer wears a touque with a pom-pom the size of my fist. Due to the recent expansion of the local resort, hundreds of devoted ski bums have since relocated to the somewhat quaint village. I wish I was one of them. Either way, I like that there are many familiar faces for me in Revelstoke.
I was challenged to take at least five photos every time I departed the car throughout the trip. Unfortunately, I failed that challenge pretty badly. I really wish I would have been a bit more diligent. Here is what I did get:
