Rich and Hye-Sun

I arrived home from our great little camping getaway midway through last week. My inbox had been bombarded...one of the first ones I opened told me that my shooting gig for Saturday had been postponed & I was kind of bummed. As I got further into the mass of emails, I opened one up from Julie, Rich's sister. She was inquiring about my availability for Saturday! As i read on, I learned that the couple has been living in Korea and have had little time for wedding planning - so Julie wanted to provide the photography as her wedding gift!

Before I knew it, I was off to Pender Island for the day!

This was, hands down, the most intense, exciting moment of my wedding season! As Hye-Sun was getting into her dress, halfway up the zipper it just wouldn't budge another smidge. It was one of those instances I wanted to sink into the corner -there was a wee bit of tension it that hotel room...and then miracously, it just went right up! ...I'm glad I didn't sink into the corner so I was able to catch this huge relief.

The first look:

I had a rather spectacular sunset on the ferry ride home, I hope you guys had an equally great one on Pender!

Leah and Scott, the BIG day.

Leah and Scott held a great evening ceremony followed by the perfect dinner party. I have decided that when I get married, I want my wedding to be almost just like this one was! ...except perhaps it will take place on top of a snow covered mountain, or at least very close to one.

Congratulations you two, I really enjoyed being part of your festivities this week!

I couldn't stop gushing about this phenomenal backlighting...these two can definately attest to my extent of nerdiness when it comes to a well-lit scene.

I had THE BEST photoshoot today! I didn't even realize how great it went until I got got home and loaded the images onto the computer...as I was going through them I just couldn't stop picking favorites!

The Tuppers spent the weekend at the Madrona Resort in Parksville for a family shindig. Deana is Adam's cousin, and she invited me to document their Sunday morning on the beach.

There was a number of toddlers on hand. Now, I often feel overwhelmed with my life these days; with three restaurant jobs, a growing photography business, a full-time boyfriend, ect. it often feels tough to keep up with "life". However, after spending a mere couple of hours with these mums and dads, I realized, WOW...they have their hands [and arms, and every possible limb on their body] way fuller than I. Those kids put me through the paces in those two hours...but we got some great shots to show for it!

Thanks for the great day! I hope you enjoy this sneak peek...& perhaps you'll have me back next year...maybe Sarah will be able to sit still by then!

...This last one pretty much sums up how the group shot panned out:

Adam & Julie go camping...finally.

At last, by the first week of September, Adam & I managed to coordinate two consecutive days off together. We headed out to the Jordan River area for our first camping trip [and quite possibly, unfortunately, our last] of the summer. We were only a little over an hour away from home, and only gone for a day and half, but it seemed like we were so far from the city and gone for so much longer! It was so, so, so great.

Adam catching some sweet wide-angle sunflare. That's my boy.

Check it out: he even carries ridiculously heavy camera bags.
